Some random thoughts

I read my "live journal" today! OMG. I think before then it was "dead journal".. It was so weird to read that. Things were so simple back then. Now I have so much to worry about. I have to worry about getting all of my bills paid, making sure my kids have what they need, making sure I can be the best wife/mommy I can be, my job, my house.. the list goes on & on. Things were much simpler when I was 20. Don't get me wrong though... I LOVE my life. I'm just rambling.

Remember that splinter I had in my foot? Yeah, it's still there. Still hurts. I think I'm going to buy this stuff called "Draw out Salve"... wish me luck!

I took the boys to Walmart today to do a little grocery shopping. My mom met us there so it wasn't so hard to shop. Last time we went to the grocery store the boys gave me such a hard time! I vowed to never go grocery shopping again alone. Anyways, L & L were so cute because they wave to everyone they see now. I tell them they are such flirts. :-)

Speaking of Walmart.

I had the rudest cashier. She put 4 boxes of cereal in one bag and when I went to grab it she said "Oh wait, I can put more in there." Whhaattt?? You already have the bag ripping at the seams! I told her it was okay and that she didn't need to put anymore in there. She just started shaking her head at me and laughing. I lost it. I said, "UM.. is there a problem?!" After every bag I asked her if it was okay if I took it or if she needed to add more stuff. The whole time my mom kept saying, "I told you she was the rude one".. lol. Ugh. Being in customer service myself I try to keep my cool and be nice but some people...

Anyways, I have a pretty bad headahce tonight.

A movie review

So, today the hubster & I (& our neice Micayla) went to the movies and saw Friends With Benefits.
I really enjoyed it. I love Mila & Justin anyways so this was just my kind of movie! I think it was rated R for the right reasons. Definitely a lot of sex, cussing, & some mild nudity.. but it was mostly JT's booty so I didn't mind! :-) The plot was good. The references to "real life" were also pretty good! I give it a 10! I am going to buy it as soon as it comes out. :-)

Go see it!

I painted the table & chairs I referenced in my last post. It looks so cute! I forgot to take a pic and upload, so I'll do that tomorrow.

Oh, and remember that splinter I said I had on Saturday night? Well, it's still in my foot. Leon & I tried for like an hour & a half to get it out... no such luck. I hope it comes out on it's own.

I took the babies swimming on Sunday in our community pool. They loved it. I am going to put them in swim classes soon! I just need to find a buddy to help me take them.

Switched at Birth is coming on now- my new favorite show!!!

Happy Saturday

Today has been such a rainy day! I'm totally not complaining though because we have been having the heat wave from hell! I think it was 112* the other day. My air couldn't keep up with the heat, it was about 85* in my house. I didn't like it. Neither did the kiddos. We thought it might have a little something to do with the fliters on our furnace so today we went to Home Depot and got some new ones. Here's the babies while we were there.

They love going shopping. Just like their Mama. While we were there I got some spray paint because I wanted to paint a little table/chair set they got from Megan. It's the perfect size for them! See..

I plan on painting it green & blue since those were their designated colors from birth. You know, one baby (Leon) wears green most of the time & gets to be a State fan. One baby (Logan) wears blue most of the time & gets to be a U of M fan. Well, until they get their own opinion. Anyways, I will post a pic when I am actually done painting it. It should be super cute!

So, as I've said before I read a lot of blogs on here. It has kinda come a daily routine. Well, I read today that a little girl Lauren passed away after what was supposed to be her final heart surgery. You can read her story here. Please go to her page & leave the family some heartful words and say a prayer for them & Lauren. She was only 3. It happens to much on here that I get some emotionally involved with other peoples kids & families. It's so sad to read about. Breaks my heart. I will say a prayer for all those angels tonight.

Tomorrow I am hoping to get a matinee in at the movies. I really want to see "Friends with Benefits"... I hope Leon goes for it.

Our neice, Micayla, is spending the weekend with us. She is helping out with the boys so Leon & I can get some projects done around the house. We got some done today. I hope to finish tomorrow & Monday. For now though, I have a splinter in my foot that needs some attending. Leon went to get tweezers.

Wish me luck.

Bad Blogger here!

I say this all the time... but I'm such a bad blogger. I've been so caught up in reading blogs that I forget to update mine. Oopsy.

Well. Lot's of things happening over here. Leon & Logan are ONE!! Well, technially 13 months. They had a great Birthday Party. I'll post some pics.

 Grandma & Papa
 Daddy & Babies

It was a fun day. Exhausting. But fun.

Let's see.. some updates on my boys.

L & L LOVE to eat. Their favorite things right now are yogurt & fruit. All fruit. Logan loves veggies. Leon doesn't care for them to much but if I hide them in his real food, he will eat them. They are touch & go with meats. They do love Mac & Cheese though.

No bottles! When they were 12 months old, I took them away. Mean mom. They did good though. Well, actually since they were 11 months they only had one before bed so to cut that last one out wasn't to bad. They didn't even notice. They take sippys like champs.

The binky on the other hand? Not so much. I've cut it out throughout the day (except for nap & bedtime) for the most part but those boys are stubborn! :-(

Logan is up to 8 teeth-4 at the top. 3 on the bottom. 1 back molar. (This molar was a very.sleepless.night.) He's also a WALKER now! He's been taking steps for a few weeks but now he's actually walking! Everywhere! Mama is so proud of you, Logie Bear!

Leon is up to 8 teeth as well. 4 on top. 4 on bottom. Looks like he has fangs when he smiles! So cute!! :-) This lil lazy bum doesn't wanna walk. I'm not worried though. He'll walk when he has somewhere to go! Or.. when he sees Logan do it enough.

It's hard to believe I actually have two toddlers. Seems like yesterday they were born. Here's a few pics!.

The pics above are from a park when they were on swings for the first time in June. They LOVED them!

The pics with the bowties are from 4th of July. I got those from a boutique on Facebook. They were so cute. I put these pics in a contest at Easy Canvas Prints & we were so close almost won!

Anyways, I started tweeting again. I think I like it more the Facebook because it's way less drama. Some mommies that I follow on here are also on Twitter & I enjoy reading their updates. :-)

Until next time...

Cheryl

P.S. I want a new blog layout. How do I get it? :-)

Hospital

Well, the past few days have sucked to say the least. I'll start with Friday. Friday morning Leon woke up a runny nose & cough. I just thought he was getting a cold... with the back & forth with the weather and all.. can you blame me?! Well, Friday night he was sounding more congested so I decided to hook up the old humidifier in their room. (At this point, Logan was fine) Saturday morning he woke with some rattling in his chest. I decided to give him a breathing treatment. We already have a nebulizer from hubby because of his asthma. And they already have albuteral because they had bronchulitis like a month and a half ago. To me? The breathing treatment worked so we packed up and took the boys to grandmas and I went to work. About an hour into my shift my mom called me and said that Leon was really struggling to breathe. Now, if you know my mom she.. exaggerates. But to be safe I called hubby (who was about 30 mins from home) to go get him and take him to the urgent care. At urgent care he received a breathing treatment and some steroids. They sent him home and said if he got worse to just go to the ER. I got off of work at 1 and when I got to my moms I just looked at him and said "LET'S GO!".. hubby and I packed up the diaper bag and went to St.Joe (where we know all to well because dad & I were both in there over the past 2 months!). When we got there they immediately took Leon back because they could see how much trouble he was having to breathe. I swear seeing all of those nurses & doctor around my little baby made me feel so helpless. Que sob fest! I just wanted him to feel better. After he got on some oxygen and 3 breathing treatments, IV fluids & steroids they decided he still needed to be admitted. Since we were at St.Joe and his doctors are all out of U of M we needed to be transferred. Well, U of M didn't have any beds open. St.Joe said they would keep us if they didn't want him to be where there was a pediatric unit a hand (which they do not.) Sob fest # 2. Our next choice? Childrens Hospital in Detroit. Not only did I not want this because I hate Detroit and think most staff at Detroit Hospitals are rude but this is the exact hospital my brother died in. Dumb. Well, baby & I were transferred by ambulance and hubby met us later. We were in the ER at Childrens for awhile and finally settled at about 10 pm. We didn't have a neighbor so that made us happy. Yesterday afternoon we ended up getting a neighbor. Boo. The child cries. A lot. And the parents? Sleep. A lot. Anyways, today is now 2 days later... and we are still here. He isn't on oxygen anymore though and getting better. He feels better though! He's blowing kisses and waving hi to everyone!.. I think we are leaving soon. We are just waiting for the attending to come see us. We were so excited to go home because Hubby & Logan were gonna come see pick us up.. However, Logan is currently on his way to U of M ER because he is getting the same symptoms Leon did. My prayer request is this:
God please heal my babies and make them better. Please look out for them in their time of need and let us be together as a family again soon. Amen.

Heres a pic of my little boy in his jail.

He looks happy here. His couldn't move his poor arm!
And I will keep everyone updated on Logan as well.
Mommy loves you guys.

The best year of my life (so far) part 1.

I can't belive that my litte boys are about to turn ONE. This past year has been the craziest BEST year of my life thus far. I never knew my heart could love someone so much. We have one from this
to this...
in just a year. (About)

I just wanna reminisce for a second. Being a mom is such a blessing & anyone with a new baby will tell you how amazing & how much they love being sleep deprived!. but a mom with TWINS will tell you.. It's HARD! lol. Yes, it's a blessing (without a shadow of a doubt) & it's amazing & I didn't mind not sleeping to an extent.. but it was the hardest thing I ever had to do in the beginning. Not only was I a first time mommy.. but I was a first time mommy to 2 babies. 2 babies that needed me to take care of them, to love them, feed them, diaper them, bathe them, and teach them!! I was scared outta my mind coming home from the hospital.
There were times in the beginning (like probably the first 3 days after we got home from the hospital...) that I didn't think I could do this. Example: About 2 A.M. both babies were up crying and needed to be changed & fed. (Leon was still off of work at this point).. I took one baby, Leon took the other and into the bedroom we went to get the changing starting. Also in the beginning for some reason the babies kept peeing through their diapers! lol.. So we had to completely change them.. sleepers and all. Afer the change & feeding, we would put them back to sleep and we would try to go to sleep. This is our sleeping arrangement.. Me on one end of the couch (with my feet propped up on a chair because they were still so swollen) and Leon on the other end of the couch. The babies slept in the pack & play in the living room. They would not go back to sleep that night. They just cried. We tried everything we could thiink of.. (after being parents for 6 days btw...) Anyways, at about 7 AM that morning I just cried. I didn't know what I was doing wrong and why my babies wouldn't stop crying. I just looked at Leon and said "Will this ever get better?!"... and it did.

It's absolutely amazing seeing a baby grow up and learn new things in front of you every single day. I am such a proud mommy because my little boys (I know I might be a little biased..lol) are per-fect. I can't thank God enough for giving me the most precious gift.. ever.

 Oh.. Hi, Leon.
Hi, Logan.
Those are two collages I made when the babies turned 6 months old. I am working on one now for 12 months. It's gotta be perfect! It will. I just got their first year birthday pics taken. I will add those in part 2 of this post.

Some of my favorite memories over the past 12 months. (Understand that this is just SOME because if I posted every single moment I've loved over the past year this blog would be never-ending...)
- When you guys first smiled. Not just the gas smile.. the real.. I'm-so-happy-to-see-you-Mommy smile.
- Saying "Mama" & "Dada"
- Rolling over
- Crawling
- Eating solids for the first time
- Getting big boy car seats
.. the list goes on & on

I am going to post letters to my little guys soon. For now, I will end this with two of the cutest little boys ever!

Sick again!

No, not the babies.. BUT ME! I thought I was finally better. :-(

I have bronchitis AGAIN. Last time though it turned into pneoumnia. I hope this time we caught it in time..!

I have so much stuff to do that this is really putting me behind. I have a list of stuff that needs to be done around the house. I don't feel like it will ever get done. Anyone wanna send me a laundry fairy puh-lease?! I abso-freaking-lutely hate folding laundry and putting it away. I don't mind washing & drying it- that's the easy part!

Ok, so... I have about 2483145 4 different types of blogs I want to post.
They include:
* Talking about the last year of my life. THE BEST ONE YET! I will probably split this blog into 2 (maybe 3!) parts because I have had so much joy & happiness in the past year that I don't think ONE blog will do actually.

* Friends & how quickly they can change!

* A new blog layout & E-Mealz?! (This will be a short one!)

* FIRST BIRTHDAY BLOGGING! (This will be exciting- look for this in the middle of June!)

Ok, so for now.. here's some cute pics of the boys making cute/funny faces!!
