Thankful Thursday!

As I sit here in the hospital with my dad I can't help but name my blog Thankful Thursday. Yeah, I know he isn't home yet and he probably won't be home til the middle of next week (if everything goes good!) but we do have lot to be thankful for. He was really sick. He could've almost died. If he didn't come to the hopital and start getting things taken care of he would be in trouble! I just can't wait for him to be better and go home where he belongs. I know he's getting so frustrated. Today he got a pick line in his arm to get the nutrients he needs. The doctor said the healing process was a slow and long process and it's going to be awhile before he gets back to where he needs to be. But I know God will heal him and make him good as new!
Being here for 7 DAYS has made me really hate hospitals.. I mean who doesn't anyway? I hate that the doctor comes in the room like a once a day (Even when he was in ICU). I also hate when they do come in they barely give you any news. They speak in "doctor" terms and when they leave you know less then you did when they came in.! I hate that you can't sleep here. I stayed all night with my dad last Saturday and I think we got a total of 2 hours of sleep. The whole night. I hate that when you hear Code Blue on the speaker that someone probably died or is dying.
Oh, and the cafeteria food sucks.
& I usually like cafeteria food.
Anyways, as I sit here on the fourth floor looking out the window to the muddy parking lot (remodeling) I can only say how thankful I am that my dad is healing. Slowly. But he's here and thats all this girl could ask for.

A worst fear.

That right there is what ya call LOVE! My dad loves his boys more then anything! He is so proud to have grandsons and well... these boys LOVE their Papa!! Who doesn't though? :) So anyone that knows me knows that I am scared of a ton of crap. But I have only a few HARDCORE WORST FEARS. Those being, losing a child, losing my parents or my hubby and bugs. I already lost my brother so I know how hard it is to have a worst fear happen right in front of you. I NEVER want to go through that again. Well, I got a scare (still..) on Thursday when I had to rush my daddy to the ER because he was having pain in his stomach. Not going into to much detail because I don't have a lot of time right now.. he has pancreatitis. His pancreas isn't breaking down the foods and processing enough insulin pretty much. So, he's in ICU right now and I am freaking out. I love him so so much and I hate to see him in so much pain. GOD please heal my dad and make him better.
I will keep everyone posted.
Please pray for my dad.

Things I am looking forward to

A list of things I am looking forward too:

* SPRING!
I just want to take my boys to the park and for walks!
*SUMMER!
I can't wait to take the babies somewhere for their first vacation.
*JUNE!
We have so many things to look forward to in June.
My boys turn ONE! So, I am having a small birthday party for them.
Beckys graduation party. (I will get to see a lot of family!)
The MD bowling. Always a good time with old friends!
Going to the New Kids and Backstreet Boys concert!! Super stoked for that!! All of these things in June.
* SWIMMING
I can't wait to float around the pool all summer with the kiddos! I love my new schedule for many reasons but this is one of them! I get to spend so much time at home to swim with my babies.
* EASTER
We are going to get family pictures taken again when Easter rolls around in the boys Easter outfits.
* GETTING OUT OF THE HOUSE
I am so tired of being cooped up in here all the time! I know L&L are too.
*MOVING
This is something hubby & I really want. We are starting to save now so hopefully by the end of summer we can get out of here.

For right now, these are a few things I am really looking forward too! And of course, watching my boys grow up. I love them so much.

Trying new foods

Over the past couple of days I have been trying the babies on new foods. Since they have been 5 months old I've pretty much just fed them regular fruits and veggies. They get Mum Mums and Gerber Puffs. But as far as grown up food, not really. I have to be very cautious of what foods I give Logan because of his eczema. So, over the past couple of days I have tried pancakes. Leon loved them. Logan did not! He didn't like the taste or the texture. (Like me) I've tried a scrambled egg- again Leon liked it Logan did not. Texture thing! And last (for the grown up food) I tried plain yogurt.. LOL they both gagged and hated it. So, it looks like I might have me some picky eaters after all. They also didn't like a new baby food I tried. Creamy wheat with peaches. (they gagged again)

I have also started them on Stage 3 foods. :)

My boys are growing up.

St.Patricks Day- and a picture to Maddie.

Happy St. Patricks Day! It's so hard to get a good picture of these two! But I am dedicating this picture to Maddie. Today is one month since she went to dance with the angels and I keep praying that her mom and dad find peace. I can't ever imagine going through what their family has. I'll keep thinking of you Maddie, have fun up there!

Yesterday were the 9 month check ups for the babies.
Leon- 18lbs 1oz, 27 inches long
Logan- 18lbs 10oz, 27 1/2 inches long

Everything is right on track with these boys! I am so happy spring is here so I can start taking them out! They need some vitamin D in their skins.

Well, I'm going to cut this short. I just wanted to dedicate this picture to Maddie. My boys would of really loved to meet her. :)

What would you do?

Okay, so I posted on my Facebook today that I had one of those "Oh my God I think I might be on Candid Camera!" Or Punked. Or What would you do? I swear! So, I went to Walmart today on my lunch break and as I am walking out I see a lady in her scooter thingy running into everything. (We are in the corrider) As I walk a little further I can see the front of her and I figured out why she was running into crap! She is pushing one of these carts in front of her wheel chair:

BUT in between that cart and her wheel chair is a TRASH CAN. FULL of crap. On her lap is a little dog. On her lap is also Subway. In one hand is the controller for chair and the other hand is pushing the cart. On her shoulder is her cell phone! (Please picture this in your head) So, after looking around I decide to help this lady. Before she gets out of the door I say,
"Can I help you?" Obviously because I can see she needs it! Instead of telling me yes she needs help she shakes her head yes. So, being the nice person I am I go to get her cart for her. But not before she runs into the door again. I'm thinking OMG this isn't happening. Why doesn't this lady get off the phone. Before I can even grab the freaking cart it all starts tumbling down. The cart flips over, the trash can falls off, the dog falls off (and is stuck under the trash can), Subway is everywhere, and this lady is still on her phone!!! My first instinct is too help the poor doggy. He doesn't want anything to do with me though. So, instead I think okay, I'll pick up the cart. UM YEAH not happening. That thing was so freaking heavy I can't lift it. The cart boy sees that I am struggling so he comes over to help as well. (Meanwhile, the lady is still on the phone) We finally get the cart picked up and go to work on the Trash can next. It's heavier then the cart. I asked if she was shopping for freaking rocks.! I finally told her she should prolly get off the phone and get her dog because the little guy still won't let me pick him up. She does and gets the dog. I got her Subway for her and handed everything back. She BUNGEE cord straped her trash can to her waist LOL and starts thanking me for helping her. She asked me to push her cart to the bus that was waiting for her. The bus driver finally comes over and yells at me because I left my purse on the ground as I was helping her friend! At that point I had enough and was seriously thinking that I was being Punked. Haha. What would you do in that situation??

Anyways, I forgot to post on the babies 9 month birthday. So Happy 9 Months my little guys! I'll update tomorrow with your stats after the doctor appointments. :)

Almost 9 months!

It's a little bittersweet. I am so BLESSED. After reading "Maddies story" and some other mommies blogs here with angels in Heaven, I just can't help but to not take a minute of my life for granted. I am so lucky. I couldn't ask for anything more. I have a little project I am going to work on tomorrow for L & L's 9 month birthday (I know that seems a little silly but I am emotional and every day is special!) Sometimes my patience gets a little tested when both of the babies are crying and fussy and theres nothing I can do to soothe them.. but after they go to sleep I miss them. I just wanna go in their room and hold them.

Dear Leon,
You are a little under the weather right now. You woke up 2x last night crying! I felt so bad for you. I hope you feel better soon. I love you my little 9 month old! <3

Dear Logan,
Daddy had his hands full with you this morning! I took your brother to lay down in my bed because he wasn't feeling well and you gave daddy a run for his money. He couldn't make you happy for a second. Eventually, he put you down for a nap in your bed and you were fine. Happy as can be for the rest of the day! I love you my little 9 month old! <3

I love being a mommy.

Baby Proofing

It's that time... to start baby proofing. Actually, to be quite honest I should've already done it. BUT since I didn't, the time is NOW! The twins are SOOO close to crawling! I keep saying "I give them a week" but really it's all up to them and when they want to crawl. We have to put the outlet stoppers in all of the outlets. Put the latches in all of cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom. I was going to do that the other day then realized it needed tools so I said forget it lol. Our major project is our TV. We have a flat screen in our living room that sits on a stand that is easy accesible when learning to walk. So, Leon is going to move a ton of things around so he can put the TV up high. We don't want the babies to be able to pull the TV down and hurt themselves. Our living room is going to look so different soon! The babies are almost to the point where they don't use the swings anymore so once those are gone and the TV stand is outta the way- it's going to look so bare! I can't believe how big my babies are getting!

I forgot to post in here what their first words were.
Leon- Baba
Logan- Dada
Yeah, it's a little bitter sweet that neither of them said "mama" first. I can handle that though. I know they love me :)

Today I went to Michaels and got a started kit to start making my own jewelery. I don't have the time really, but I wanted something that I could do as a hobby. I don't really have any. I figure if I am good at it I can make jewelery and either give it away or sell it! A mama always needs to make a litle extra cash! :)

Schedules!

Questions I get all the time:

"Are they sleeping through the night?"

"Do they eat at the same time?"

"Do they wake up at the same time?"

Yadda.. yadda.. yadda..

And the answer to these questions is YES! To all of them. How you ask? Because sticking to a strict schedule is so very important. That's my one piece of advice to any new mommys or mommys to be! As soon as the twins came home from the hospital I made sure to make a schedule and stick to it.. as much as possible. It makes everyones life easier.! I even find that I schedule our day sometimes around "2 o clock nap"..

Heres a little example.

7:00-7:30 AM- Both babies wake up.

7:45-8:00 AM- Eat 8 oz bottle.

8:00-9:30 AM- Play time!

9:30-10:30- Play, watch some cartoons, a little nap.

11:00 AM- Eat breakfast. Oatmeal/Rice Cereal and Fruit. Snack.

11:30 AM- Get dressed.

Play time! Some Mickey Mouse.

1:30-2:00- 8oz Bottle.

2:00-3:30 (sometimes 4)- Nap time in their cribs.

Play time! (We play a lot...)

4:45-5:00 Eat dinner. 2 veggies each. Snack. They also stay in their high chairs while mommy cooks dinner!

Play time!

7:30- Jammies, lotions...

7:45- 8oz bottle.

8:00- BED TIME!/ Mommy time.

Of course the schedule is a little tweaked here and there when we have somewhere to go or I have to work. The play time area is usually when we change things up. Eating/Naps are always at the same time.

So.. see... a schedule is so important! :)

Today the babies are at their grandmas. I had a dentist appt this morning so I came home to do some laundry! I am going to go there now and pick them up.. after nap. :)
Take care!

I'm back

Well well well... I am such a bad blogger! I've finally realized how important it is to document everything because the other day I couldn't remember what day Leon got his first tooth... or when Logan rolled over for the first time! These are all things I want to remember so badly years from now. So, my (late) New Years Resolution is to keep up with this blog! I have so much to catch up on here so here I go! (Good thing the twins are napping!)

8 MONTHS HAVE PASSED! I knew time would fly by.. but really? I just can't believe it. It's so amazing to notice the different personalities my little guys have. They are learning new things every single day and it just amazes me. First I'll talk about Leon.. my first born!

Leon- below

Oh baby Chunky Monkey. Leon was the first to get a tooth. He got it the day after his first Thanksgiving. He now has two teeth. (On the bottom) He has the brightest blue eyes and the chubbiest cheeks! He has brown hair and a lot of it! People say he looks like both hubby and I. He is about 17lbs and 24 inches long! Leon LOVES eating mum mums and gerber puffs! He loves apple juice but only if it's cold. The only food that I've noticed he doesn't like to eat is peaches. Leon has been sleeping through the night since he was 3 months old! He loved being swaddled until he was about 4 or 5 months then he didn't care to be. He sleeps in a sack now. Leon loves sleeping on his sides. He does find ways to get all around his crib though! Leon loves his binky. And his monkey blankey. For some reason Leon always crys when certain guys talk to him. And if you're wearing a hat, forget about it. He sits up on his own and if he sees a toy out of reach he will try his hardest to get it. He isn't quite crawling yet... but he will be there soon. He loves watching Diego and Mickey Mouse. Leon loves to sing and smile. He is such a happy baby and I thank God for him. I love you, Chunky Monkey!

Logan- below
Logie Bear! Logan is still so spunky! He has been since he was in my tummy. Logan has two teeth as well. Logan rolled over first. Logan is 18lbs about 24 1/2 inches long. He unfortunately has pretty severe eczema. He has been to a ton of doctors and right now we think we have it under control. He does get flare ups here and there but for the most part its okay. Logie also has blue eyes but he has blonde hair- I think it's going to be curly. Logan also looks like a mix of me and hubby as well. He is almost crawling! He's so close.. I give him a week. Logan loves to eat as well. I haven't found any foods he doesn't like. Logan doesn't really like juice though. He loves to drink water from a water bottle! Maybe I'll skip straight to that from his bottle.! LOL. Logan also loves to play with toys and make lots of noise. For the most part Logan sleeps through the night too. Since 3 months. He refuses to sleep without his swaddle, his bear, and his binky. Logan loves Maxine. He loves all animals actually. And lights. And TV. Thank you God for my Logie! I love you, baby boy!

First big Football Game! Michigan VS. State

Our family loves football and rivialry! This was a fun day.

1st Thanksgiving

Logan on the left and Leon on the right. Their first bite of sweet potatoes!

1st Christmas
Logan is the elf and Leon is the Santa. They had such a good first Christmas!
We look forward to Spring! I can't wait to get the babies outside in their stroller and take them for walks. We are going to install their big boy car seats as soon as the weather breaks. I can't believe how big they are. They are both starting to notice certain people. They love Grandma and Papa.!
As for me and Leon. We are still the same! I work only 3 days a week so I can be home with the babies the rest of the days. Leon works 6 nights a week. He doesn't see the babies as much as would like too... another reason I should really keep up with this blog!
I think that's it for now! See ya tomorrow!
