My confessions..

I confess this:

I want my husband to SO BADLY be on day shift at work. I want to be a normal family. You know.. the kind where your kids get to have their mommy & daddy tuck them in at night, not just mommy 6 days a week. You know.. the kind that has dinner together as a family. Not the kind that has mommy & kids having dinner then packing daddies up for lunch at work. You know.. the kind that can sleep at night and wake up in the morning together. Not the kind that has mommy & kids wake up, daddy gets home from work then sleeps all day. Yeah.. THAT kind.

I want sometimes to be a stay at home mom. I want sometimes to be a full time employee. I'm torn.

I confess that I hate housework with a passion. So much that I haven't dusted everything in weeks. I haven't mopped the kitchen floor in GOD knows how long. Swiffer wet jet anyone? My laundry room? It's a hot mess. Clothes EVERYWHERE. On top of the dryer. In the dryer. On the floor. Hanging up. Hanging over the dresser. Everywhere. I don't always have time to keep the house in tip top shape... and when I do? I don't want to do it. I want to do other things. Other things that don't always consist of cleaning.

I confess that as much as I don't want to just "give in" and let the boys have something they aren't suppose to have.. I do. If Logan cries because he wants my cell phone, it's his. If Leon cries because he wants the remote control, he can have it. Because? I like to see my kids happy and not crying.

I confess that I have a calander of all of my favorite TV shows because I don't want to miss any. Also, we need to make sure we have them all recorded on the DVR. With all of the shows coming back in September, I need this calander. Oh, and if hubby has a show that interferes with mine? I stop his recording. I feel bad about it, but...?

I confess that I really do enjoy some of the cartoons we watch around here. They are limited though, I'll tell you. We are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Yo Gabba Gabba, The Backyardigans, Go Diego Go!, and Dora the Explorer fans over here. However, there are some things I HATE about all of these shows. Specifically? That bia, Uniquoa, from the Backyardigans. She's mean. And bossy.

I confess that I have seriously thought about getting rid of my Facebook. I post a lot. I do. BUT? Some people post WAY to much and honestly.. it's about dumb stuff. Get Twitter if you want to do that. Then follow me.

I confess that as much as I say it doesn't bother me that my "friends" no longer think to call me to the latest gathering, it does. Just because I have kids now doesn't mean I can't hang out. But when I think about it more? My kids are way cooler then most of them anyways. I know who my true friends are!

Those are my confessions for today.. I have more. What are yours?

Thanks Katie for the idea of confessions!

Happy Anniversary!

3 years ago today I married my best friend! Leon & I have had our ups & downs, but what marriage hasn't? In the end it has only made us stronger. He is such a caring father, friend, companion. He works so hard for our family. We cares about us more then anything. I am so blessed to have him. Here's a look back on our wedding day. I made this slideshow shortly after our wedding. Also? I got is from myspace. Remember that place?!
Anyways, Happy 3 years, baby! I love you!

Right place, right time.

Hi! Happy Monday!

So, today the boys & I went to pick up my mom to go do some shopping. However, I looked at the time and saw it was time for the babies to eat lunch. We went into my moms house and I fed them. After lunch we left (A half hour later then planned..) As we were driving out of my moms community I saw a dog on leash. No person though. A couple feet away was a man lying on the ground. He was shaking and jerking. He was having a seizure. I immediately stopped the car and got my cell phone out and called 911. I ran over to the guy.. (And I got his dogs leash, so he didn't run away.) I got on the ground next to the guy and sat with him. I was talking to him and trying to keep him awake because by now he was not seizing but just gasping to breathe. So by now a couple other neighbors came over and one of them knew him. (Kinda..) She said his name was Jody and she left to go get her kid (to come get the dog.) and Jodys cousin. The EMT's arrived. (Felt like FOREVER!) Jody was still out of it when they came. He had a big bump on his head and was bleeding. His arm looked awkward and bruised as well. I'm so sad for him. I just pray that he will be okay. So, please join me in saying a prayer for this man. Jody. I was so glad to have been there when I was. Who knows how long he was lying there before someone finally saw him.

In other blurbs.

Today is my husbands 30th birthday! Happy Birthday, husband. I baked him some cupcakes. We aren't actually celebrating til next weekend though. I'll make a post after we celebrate to tell all about it! Here's what he saw when he woke up from his nap.

Yesterday, my friend, Nancy, got MARRIED! See?

 Mr.& Mrs. Grabinski
 Before the wedding @ my moms. The boys weren't going.
Hubs and I!

Before the wedding though- there was a bachelorette party! It was a ton of fun! I was able to get out of the house for a night and have some girl time. My mom kept the boys for me. We went to a bar near my house called The Diamondback Saloon. It's more or less a country bar that plays all types of music for some of the time. We danced! We laughed! We had a blast. Here are some pics!

Other then that, things around here have been pretty calm & normal. Tomorrow, my husband and I will be married for 3 years.

Until then,

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday!

Remember I mentioned here that I wanted to go to IKEA but I didn't mention it to husband? Well, I did. And? We went. We were supposed to have a sitter but that fell through and we ended up taking the boys. That was a mistake to say the least. I'll back up a bit. Before IKEA we decided to go to dinner. The 4 of us. A nice family dinner.... UM... that wasn't smart! What was I thinking? Before our food even arrived the boys were cranky and ready to go. Husband took them to the car and I got to go boxes. I knew right there we shouldn't have gone to IKEA. But... we were already basically there. It was across the parking lot. So. We went. Everyone knows once you get in the showroom (why we went up there, I'll never know...) you can't get out! I was so over it. The kids were crying. Husband was cranky. We ran! Fast. We needed out of there.

Here are some pics:

 That's my new hair!
 Logan's bandaid!
 Logan eating a cupcake
 Katie from Loves of Life used these and I loved them! I think they turned out great.!

 I went to my cousins bridal shower today. She is getting married in November. I am so happy for her! Other then that our weekend was pretty calm.
How was yours??

Blurbs

Well, I slacked again on blogging! I have pretty good reason though. (More details in a few...) Anyways, last week my mom & I took the babies to the zoo! I keep trying to upload the pics but they won't.. so I'll post them tomorrow. (maybe) The boys had a fun time. Me? Not so much. I was so OVER the rude people. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that when you see someone with a double stroller & a wagon trying to get through you don't MOVE. Instead you just stand there starring at the damn polar bear like you're a 5 year old kid. I thought about this the whole time at the zoo for my Friday Frustration post. Well, because that's the only thing really that pissed me off that week.

As for the reason that I couldn't post really? Well, Leon started getting feverish Thursday night after the zoo. Thursday evening, Friday & Saturday he was running fevers on/off of like 102.5. Husband ended up taking him to the doctor Saturday morning and she said he was fine. I really dislike that doctor. They just want my copay I feel. It's always only about the money.

Both toddlers have been so CLINGY & WHINEY for the past 4-5 days. Logan has actually started running a temp last night. He's running one again today. It must be something viral one baby picked up & the other caught it. I hope they both feel better soon & get back to their normal selves.

Logan got his first boo boo the other day. I was at work. Daddy took some stuff to the car and the screen door didn't latch properly. Logan leaned against it and fell to the porch. :-(  He got a scratch on his forehead and he bit his lip. My poor boy. He's okay though!

My friend Nancy came over the other day and I tried out some hairstyles for her.. She's getting married at the end of the month! :-)

Hubs & I were gonna try and take off at the end of the month on a mini-vacay for his 30th and our 3 year wedding anniversary but we just don't think it's going to happen after all. We can't seem to find the time when we can both be off work and have my mom stay with the boys. Sad face.

I have something planned for this weekend that I have yet to run by said husband. I realllly wanna go to Ikea. I've never been and I have to get my living room back to a normal living room. Right now?? It's a toy room. And yes, I know, I have 2 toddlers that like to play but they have a room. And they will start using it. :-)

Oh.. and if you don't mind... please take a looksy at these blogs and pray for these people.

Pray for Tripp
Maddies Mom & Dad
Baby Pierce
Megans twins will arrive Friday SAFE and SOUND!
Jamsies mom & dad
Little Brayden!

I read these blogs all the time and their stories have pulled at my heart strings and I know they will yours too.

Take care!

Discipline

Something that has been on my mind lately has been discipline. When I was pregnant I said constantly, if one parent says no the other has to say no, if the babies cry because they want something I already took away- I wouldn't give in, etc... Well, that has went out the window (not completely, but...) I just feel bad if one of the kiddos want something (like a binky or my cell phone) and I already took it away. They give me the look and my heart melts. I just wanna give it back. And 90% of the time... I do. And? When hubby tells me to not give them a taste of something because they won't like it & it might upset their tummy (like a pickle) I do it anyways, because I want to. Now, I know in the future this will be unexceptable... like when one of the teenagers asks to use the car and dad says no, I know I can't say yes. That is not good co-parenting. Anyways, what I am curious to know from other mommies (not sure how many daddies read blogs) is were you like this with your kids? Did you always give in? I don't wanna be that mom that gives her child whatever they want because I don't want by any means to have spoiled children. Do I just let them cry and give me the look? Please help!

My weekend

I was supposed to be here for Saturday Morning Scene but I forgot. :-( Boo. I'm still trying to remember to be here & post more. So, maybe next week!

Anyways, here's our weekend! :-)

On Saturday while I was at work I decided we needed to get the boys outta the house! They are home most all day/every day. Except for when they are at my moms house or my aunts house. L & L always have eachother to play with but I want them to start getting out more and playing with other babies. Do you remember Nicky & Alex from Full House? Uncle Jesse wanted them to play with other kids when they were like 3 years old and by that time they only wanted to play with eachother. Anyways, I want them to get used to playing with others! I asked some friends if they wanted to take their little guy (He's almost 2) to go to Chuck E Cheese. They couldn't go so I asked my cousin to come and bring her daughter Ava. She's 19 months old. They hung out with her last week and they got along well. :-) Well, she decided to go. Sooo after nap time we loaded up the babies and went. As soon as we got there and got the babies settled into highchairs I took this:

It is SO hard to get a pic of the 3 of them. Well Chuck E Cheese was on the stage performing and they were amazed with him. I was happy they weren't scared! Soo, our pizza came & we ate. Leon didn't care for it but Logan did. After pizza, we went to the play area. Theres a toddler section now which I was so thankful for! Here are those pics.

We kept ending up back in the toddler section but we did venture out so the kids could ride the big kid rides and watch the biggest kid of all daddy play. They had a blast and I'm so glad we took them. However, I will not be taking them back for at least another year. They aren't quite ready yet.

Sunday was fun as well. We got to sleep in (when I say sleep in I mean.. 8:00) because the babies went to bed late (almost 10!- and they are usually in bed at 8 every night). Well, hubby went golfing with my uncle & I took the babies to Walmart. I said I was never going to take them again while I was alone.. but I needed stuff. And they? Needed a nap. My lord. That was a disaster. After Walmart I just went over my parents because they were going to be returning from their trip & wanted to see the babies. We spent some time over there then came home.

Over all it was a great weekend. We need more of those!

So on to today. I went and got my hair cut (finally!). I also went and bought the new foam hair dye and.. did it myself. Jury is still out on it. I'll post a picture when I get it all done. :-)

How was your weekend?

Here are some more Chuck E Cheese pics!

Friday Frustrations

This week has actually been pretty good week. Not to say I don't have anything to complain about though! Like. sometimes I feel taken advantage of. Bleh. I do SO much for people & when I need something (i.e. a babysitter, a break!) nobody is there. YES, I do have a sitter often enough but... I don't know. It's whatever I guess.

I have been trying to go get my hair cut all week. Still haven't found 1 minute to do it.

I've been trying to sell some baby stuff on Craigslist, only a little luck.

Since when do books cost so much freaking money? For reals. I went to Walmart (Yes, I shop there quite often) to get the boys some books and I couldn't believe how much a Dr.Suess book was! The Cat in the Hat was $8. Tomorrow there is a library used book sale, I'm totally going.

Oh, here's one. My dog, Maxi. I love her. to. pieces. but she has been pissing me off. Maxi has been my best girlfriend for 15 (almost 16) years. She has been apart my life longer then she hasn't been, if that makes sense. Anyways, yeah she's old. Like a billion years in dog years... so... she's been losing control of her bladder. I know it's not her fault, I really do.. but she pees in the house. A LOT. And? It makes me mad. Because? I just let her outside when she does it.

Well, that's all for this Friday! See ya tomorrow for SMS!

It's the little things

I read something on a blog a while back... (This one actually) where a mommy listed some things that piss her 1 year old off. I laughed because everything she said was exactly the same things that piss L & L off! So, today I am going to write a little post about the little things that make the boys mad and the little things that make them happy.

The boys get so mad when I
* Try to wash their face
* Or their hands
* Take their binky
* Put a shirt on
* Take a shirt off
* Put shoes on them
* Change their diaper
* Brush their teeth
* Get them out of the bath
* Put a hat on them
* Put lotion/sunscreen on them
* Put them in their carseats
* Take them out of the carseats
* Block the kitchen/bathroom off
* Take their empty sippys
* Make sure they don't play with the remotes/cell phones/computer

I'm sure this list can go on forever! And.. I must say sometimes when they get mad at these things I laugh. They get mad over the silliest things. BUT they get happy over the silliest thing. So, here is a list of things (not ALL) that make them happy!

* First thing in the morning when I go get them out of bed
* Give them kisses
* Give them hugs
* Stick out my tongue
* Clap my hands
* Go Diego Go, Mickey Mouse, Yo Gabba Gabba
* Their bear bear & monk monk (Bear & Monkey heads on a little blanket)
* Binkys
* Music
* Pillows on the living room floor
* Any type of food
* Apple juice
* Going bye bye
* People
* Sing to them
* Playing with them
* Making silly noises
* Believe it or not, when it's bed time!
* Playing with everything they are not supposed to be playing with
* Books
* Learning new things
* Snacks
* Did I mention food?
* Dogs, animals, furry things
* Naps
* Cuddles with mama

My boys are happy babies. They LOVE a lot of things/people. I couldn't list them all. But here's a few tidbits :-)

Hope everyone is having a good day! :-)

XOXO,

Cheryl

Creativity

Sooo.. I think when it comes to artsy stuff I am pretty good. I need inspiration most of the time or a play by play.. but I am not to bad. However, I get frustrated to easily. Grr! Also, I wish I were more creative. Like for example, I wanted to come up with bad ass title for my blog and what do I have... Double Blessings?! Yes, I do have double blessings but... could that be the lamest blog title ever or what?

Any suggestions?

Also, I wanna take up photography. Leon said I can get a new camera when we save up enough money! So excited! I've always loved photography as a hobby. I've been working with some photo editing programs, trying to learn them by myself.. If I could take some classes, I would. I just don't see it in the budget right now.

I've been hearing a lot of good things about Pinterest. OMG. I went on there for a second and had to leave! It gave me that inspiration I was talking about earlier. I wanted to do so many projects & take so many pictures. I don't think I can go on there anymore. Between Blogger, Twitter & Facebook I'm already on the internet way to much.

Anyways, I want to be more creative. :-(
