Hospital

Well, the past few days have sucked to say the least. I'll start with Friday. Friday morning Leon woke up a runny nose & cough. I just thought he was getting a cold... with the back & forth with the weather and all.. can you blame me?! Well, Friday night he was sounding more congested so I decided to hook up the old humidifier in their room. (At this point, Logan was fine) Saturday morning he woke with some rattling in his chest. I decided to give him a breathing treatment. We already have a nebulizer from hubby because of his asthma. And they already have albuteral because they had bronchulitis like a month and a half ago. To me? The breathing treatment worked so we packed up and took the boys to grandmas and I went to work. About an hour into my shift my mom called me and said that Leon was really struggling to breathe. Now, if you know my mom she.. exaggerates. But to be safe I called hubby (who was about 30 mins from home) to go get him and take him to the urgent care. At urgent care he received a breathing treatment and some steroids. They sent him home and said if he got worse to just go to the ER. I got off of work at 1 and when I got to my moms I just looked at him and said "LET'S GO!".. hubby and I packed up the diaper bag and went to St.Joe (where we know all to well because dad & I were both in there over the past 2 months!). When we got there they immediately took Leon back because they could see how much trouble he was having to breathe. I swear seeing all of those nurses & doctor around my little baby made me feel so helpless. Que sob fest! I just wanted him to feel better. After he got on some oxygen and 3 breathing treatments, IV fluids & steroids they decided he still needed to be admitted. Since we were at St.Joe and his doctors are all out of U of M we needed to be transferred. Well, U of M didn't have any beds open. St.Joe said they would keep us if they didn't want him to be where there was a pediatric unit a hand (which they do not.) Sob fest # 2. Our next choice? Childrens Hospital in Detroit. Not only did I not want this because I hate Detroit and think most staff at Detroit Hospitals are rude but this is the exact hospital my brother died in. Dumb. Well, baby & I were transferred by ambulance and hubby met us later. We were in the ER at Childrens for awhile and finally settled at about 10 pm. We didn't have a neighbor so that made us happy. Yesterday afternoon we ended up getting a neighbor. Boo. The child cries. A lot. And the parents? Sleep. A lot. Anyways, today is now 2 days later... and we are still here. He isn't on oxygen anymore though and getting better. He feels better though! He's blowing kisses and waving hi to everyone!.. I think we are leaving soon. We are just waiting for the attending to come see us. We were so excited to go home because Hubby & Logan were gonna come see pick us up.. However, Logan is currently on his way to U of M ER because he is getting the same symptoms Leon did. My prayer request is this:
God please heal my babies and make them better. Please look out for them in their time of need and let us be together as a family again soon. Amen.

Heres a pic of my little boy in his jail.

He looks happy here. His couldn't move his poor arm!
And I will keep everyone updated on Logan as well.
Mommy loves you guys.

The best year of my life (so far) part 1.

I can't belive that my litte boys are about to turn ONE. This past year has been the craziest BEST year of my life thus far. I never knew my heart could love someone so much. We have one from this
to this...
in just a year. (About)

I just wanna reminisce for a second. Being a mom is such a blessing & anyone with a new baby will tell you how amazing & how much they love being sleep deprived!. but a mom with TWINS will tell you.. It's HARD! lol. Yes, it's a blessing (without a shadow of a doubt) & it's amazing & I didn't mind not sleeping to an extent.. but it was the hardest thing I ever had to do in the beginning. Not only was I a first time mommy.. but I was a first time mommy to 2 babies. 2 babies that needed me to take care of them, to love them, feed them, diaper them, bathe them, and teach them!! I was scared outta my mind coming home from the hospital.
There were times in the beginning (like probably the first 3 days after we got home from the hospital...) that I didn't think I could do this. Example: About 2 A.M. both babies were up crying and needed to be changed & fed. (Leon was still off of work at this point).. I took one baby, Leon took the other and into the bedroom we went to get the changing starting. Also in the beginning for some reason the babies kept peeing through their diapers! lol.. So we had to completely change them.. sleepers and all. Afer the change & feeding, we would put them back to sleep and we would try to go to sleep. This is our sleeping arrangement.. Me on one end of the couch (with my feet propped up on a chair because they were still so swollen) and Leon on the other end of the couch. The babies slept in the pack & play in the living room. They would not go back to sleep that night. They just cried. We tried everything we could thiink of.. (after being parents for 6 days btw...) Anyways, at about 7 AM that morning I just cried. I didn't know what I was doing wrong and why my babies wouldn't stop crying. I just looked at Leon and said "Will this ever get better?!"... and it did.

It's absolutely amazing seeing a baby grow up and learn new things in front of you every single day. I am such a proud mommy because my little boys (I know I might be a little biased..lol) are per-fect. I can't thank God enough for giving me the most precious gift.. ever.

 Oh.. Hi, Leon.
Hi, Logan.
Those are two collages I made when the babies turned 6 months old. I am working on one now for 12 months. It's gotta be perfect! It will. I just got their first year birthday pics taken. I will add those in part 2 of this post.

Some of my favorite memories over the past 12 months. (Understand that this is just SOME because if I posted every single moment I've loved over the past year this blog would be never-ending...)
- When you guys first smiled. Not just the gas smile.. the real.. I'm-so-happy-to-see-you-Mommy smile.
- Saying "Mama" & "Dada"
- Rolling over
- Crawling
- Eating solids for the first time
- Getting big boy car seats
.. the list goes on & on

I am going to post letters to my little guys soon. For now, I will end this with two of the cutest little boys ever!

Sick again!

No, not the babies.. BUT ME! I thought I was finally better. :-(

I have bronchitis AGAIN. Last time though it turned into pneoumnia. I hope this time we caught it in time..!

I have so much stuff to do that this is really putting me behind. I have a list of stuff that needs to be done around the house. I don't feel like it will ever get done. Anyone wanna send me a laundry fairy puh-lease?! I abso-freaking-lutely hate folding laundry and putting it away. I don't mind washing & drying it- that's the easy part!

Ok, so... I have about 2483145 4 different types of blogs I want to post.
They include:
* Talking about the last year of my life. THE BEST ONE YET! I will probably split this blog into 2 (maybe 3!) parts because I have had so much joy & happiness in the past year that I don't think ONE blog will do actually.

* Friends & how quickly they can change!

* A new blog layout & E-Mealz?! (This will be a short one!)

* FIRST BIRTHDAY BLOGGING! (This will be exciting- look for this in the middle of June!)

Ok, so for now.. here's some cute pics of the boys making cute/funny faces!!

Blogging

I love to blog. Obviously. Or I wouldn't do it. I honestly don't know how many people read come here and look. Maybe to see pics or maybe to read. I started to realize that maybe I wasn't writing in here for other people but for me. Sometimes it's a way for me to come and write things down so I don't forget! I don't want to forget anything. I really wish I would come here more.

I mean I do come here every day to read others blogs. Most of them I don't know personally. I feel like I do though! Sad right? Leon saw me reading a blog the other day and thought I was silly for reading about someones life I didn't know.

To me though? I like it. I like to read about other people and their journey's. And their babies. Sometimes it makes me feel that I (as a mommy & wife) am not alone. Not that I ever thought I was. There are other people out there like me.

Anyways.

I write because I want to. Not because I expect a ton of people to follow me (not that I would mind!) or because I NEED people to read my story. I just want to. For me.

That is all.

Babies First Easter

The babies first Easter was awesome! I love when they have their "firsts" and this was no exception. Here is a picture of their baskets.
Inside I put some Gerber Puffs, sandals, socks, 2 sippys each, a Mickey bowl, Yo Gabba Gabba DVD & Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD. Oh & a stuffed bunny rabit. They were more interested in the snacks more then anything. My parents got them their Easter outfits & and riding fire truck toy. Aunt Debbie (they call her Mee-Moo) got them each a basket with toys & books, Denise got them a water table toy for the summer, and my mother in law gave them $$$ for their bank accounts. They made out for their first Easter. We went to Aunt Debs house and the adults had an egg hunt. We get eggs full of candy & lottery scratch offs! We always seem to miss one though. LOL. How was your Easter?

Here's a pic from Easter.

The babies first birthday is fast approaching! I am already in planning mode trying to figure out which route I want to go. Big or small. Park or my aunts house. So many decisions. I can't believe they are already going to be a year.

Well, I didn't have a lot of time tonight to update so it's a short one. I will leave you with this cute picture of Logan from Meijer. I put these cute bunny ears on him & he didn't like it. :-)

Love,
Cheryl

NO MORE HOSPITALS

Last time I updated my dad was in the hospital. He's home now and healing great! Thanks again for all the well wishes by the way. He was in the hospital for a total of 12 days. 4 days in the intensive care unit and 8 days in a regular room. Last weekend I was in the hospital! Here's what happened:
Last Monday (over a week ago) I got a really bad cough! By Wednesday of last week I was having trouble breathing. Thursday morning I went to the urgent care. The doctor said I had bronchitis and sent me home with an inhaler, antibiotics, and a cough syrup. (Oh yeah, and two shots in my hip ass!- a steroid and antibiotic).. Thursday night I didn't sleep a wink because I was up all night coughing and couldn't breathe. Friday morning I still went to work even though I knew I shouldn't of. I was having trouble breathing all day and coughing so bad I decided to go back to the urgent care again. My pulse-ox was low (only 90-91) so the doc gave me a breathing treatment and it didn't change. Oh BTW, someone like me who has never smoked should have a pulse-ox of 98-100. So, he took an Xray and saw that I had pnemounia. Though the Xray machine wasn't the best at urgent care.. he said I needed to go to the hospital because of my breathing. Then I got two more shots! Ouch! Leon came up there from work and took me to St.Joe (yeah, where dad was). The ER docs put me on an IV, drew my blood, and did an Xray. They took me in a room to put me on oxygen and the doc came in to confirm pnemounia. (Actually, pretty bad in my left lung) By this time my pulse-ox went down to 89 before the oxygen. Then I found out I needed to be admitted. :-( Sad day for me. At about 1 in the morning I was finally given a room and got settled for the night. I ended up staying in the hospital until Sunday evening. I missed my boys SO much. They wanted to me stay another night but I begged to go home and be with them. I just had to promise to take it easy because my pulse ox was still only 92. I was pumped FULL of fluids and antibiotics while there. So, I stayed at my mom and dads until yesterday! My boys were so ready to get home and so was I. We needed to get back to our routine. I'm still not 100% but I am well on my way! I pray to never get pnemounia again.

As far as my boys go.. well.. they are growing!! I forgot to mention it on here but they turned 10 months on April 10th so here we go:

Logan,

Hi my little 10 month old! My little one. My baby. (By two minutes). You are crawling EVERYWHERE! I can't even believe how quick you are. I take my eyes off of you for one minute and you are already across the room or in a different one altogether!! :-) You still love to say Dadadadada all day long but I did manage to get a "mom" from you the other day! You got two top teeth now. That makes 4 teeth! Well, 3 and a half I say. And trust me- you let us know when you are cutting one! lol You are growing so quick my love. I don't wanna miss a minute. I love you!

Leon,

Hi my little 10 month old!! My chunky boy. You are so cute. You are still not quite crawling yet but you do scoot and roll around everywhere.. and you do get in quite a pickle sometimes! I bet you will crawling any day now. You waved "hi" the other day! And of course you say "Mama" to me! You are keeping up with your brother in the teeth category. 3 and a half :-) And chunky monkey, you LOVE to eat. You would eat all day if I would let you. Thats okay, you are a growing boy! I can't blink though cause I don't wanna miss a minute of you growing up. I love you!

Thankful Thursday!

As I sit here in the hospital with my dad I can't help but name my blog Thankful Thursday. Yeah, I know he isn't home yet and he probably won't be home til the middle of next week (if everything goes good!) but we do have lot to be thankful for. He was really sick. He could've almost died. If he didn't come to the hopital and start getting things taken care of he would be in trouble! I just can't wait for him to be better and go home where he belongs. I know he's getting so frustrated. Today he got a pick line in his arm to get the nutrients he needs. The doctor said the healing process was a slow and long process and it's going to be awhile before he gets back to where he needs to be. But I know God will heal him and make him good as new!
Being here for 7 DAYS has made me really hate hospitals.. I mean who doesn't anyway? I hate that the doctor comes in the room like a once a day (Even when he was in ICU). I also hate when they do come in they barely give you any news. They speak in "doctor" terms and when they leave you know less then you did when they came in.! I hate that you can't sleep here. I stayed all night with my dad last Saturday and I think we got a total of 2 hours of sleep. The whole night. I hate that when you hear Code Blue on the speaker that someone probably died or is dying.
Oh, and the cafeteria food sucks.
& I usually like cafeteria food.
Anyways, as I sit here on the fourth floor looking out the window to the muddy parking lot (remodeling) I can only say how thankful I am that my dad is healing. Slowly. But he's here and thats all this girl could ask for.
